On Friday, University of Würzburg researchers published a paper on AI-powered lie detection systems. They are better than humans at spotting lies.

What happened?

MIT Researchers trained an AI model on true and false statements. It achieved 67% accuracy in detecting lies. Humans have a 50% success rate.

Why do I care?

AI-based lie detection systems could help us distinguish facts from fake news, evaluate claims, and potentially spot fibs in job applications.

What’s Open-TeleVision?

It’s an immersive experience that lets you see through the robot's “eyes” and control its movements.

How does it work?

It uses VR to stream the operator's hand, head, and wrist movements to a server. The data is then used to control the robot's movements in real-time. A camera on the robot's head provides you with 3D visual feedback.
