Amazon has launched its AI-powered shopping assistant, "Rufus," for all U.S. customers in the Amazon mobile app. Rufus, accessible via the appβs main navigation bar, assists with finding products, making comparisons, and offering purchase recommendations. Initially available in beta, Rufus has now been tested with tens of millions of questions. The assistant is trained on Amazonβs product catalog, customer reviews, and other public data sources. Customers can ask Rufus various questions, such as "What to consider when buying headphones?" or request task-specific recommendations, like starting an indoor garden. Additionally, Rufus can provide updates on past orders and current deliveries. Though generally effective, Rufus occasionally errs in its responses and is limited to Amazonβs catalog. Amazon plans to continually enhance the assistantβs capabilities. |
