Disney says it's investigating reported 1.2TB hack

Disney is currently investigating a reported hack of its internal Slack messages by a group known as Nullbulge, a decade after Sony Pictures faced a crippling cyberattack. The Wall Street Journal first detailed the breach, claiming it includes data from thousands of Slack channels within the media giant.

Nullbulge, on their website titled 'Disney Internal Slack,' boasts about accessing nearly 10,000 channels, including unreleased projects, raw images, and code. They have posted screenshots online, although the WSJ couldn't independently verify the extent or method of document acquisition.

The hacker group justified targeting Disney citing concerns over artist contracts, AI practices, and consumer treatment. They claim to have breached the system via a Disney software development manager's compromised computer, echoing past cyber incidents such as the notorious Sony Pictures hack in 2014.

Elon Musk confirms Tesla ‘robotaxi’ event delay

Elon Musk confirmed on Monday that Tesla’s robotaxi event, originally slated for August, will now take place in October. He responded to a user's inquiry on X, mentioning a critical design change at the front of the vehicle that necessitated additional time for preparation.

This delay aligns with a recent Bloomberg report, which stated that Tesla was extending the timeline to accommodate the production of more prototypes and revise certain aspects of the car's design, notably at Musk's directive to alter the front.

In early April, Musk had initially announced the unveiling of the Tesla Robotaxi for August 8, coinciding with reports that Tesla was abandoning plans for a $25,000 budget model in favor of focusing on robotaxi development. Subsequently, Tesla implemented workforce reductions and dismissed senior executives amid efforts to streamline operations and reduce costs.

AT&T paid hacker $370K to delete stolen customer data

AT&T paid a hacker about $370,000 to delete stolen customer data as part of a larger hacking spree earlier this year, Wired reports. The hacker provided a video confirmation of the data's deletion after negotiations led by an intermediary named Reddington, who represented the ShinyHunters group.

Initially asking for $1 million, the hacker settled for the lower amount, paid in bitcoin on May 17th. Reddington, who was also compensated for his negotiations, claimed that while the main copy of the data was deleted, some excerpts might still be accessible.

In addition to AT&T, other companies like Ticketmaster and Santander Bank were compromised due to stolen credentials from a third-party cloud storage provider, Snowflake. Following the Ticketmaster breach, hackers exploited a script to target over 160 companies simultaneously.
