The Nachusa Grassland is a restored prairie, spanning 4,000 acres, making it one of the largest and most biologically diverse grasslands in Illinois. This preserve is home to a wide array of species, including turtles, toads, rabbits, sparrows, red-tailed hawks, harriers, bison, and 700 species of native plants.
